Your Bridge Programme
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.
Bridge will also be offered some mornings or afternoons. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
We also try to include interesting bridge seminars as part of your programme, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.
During your holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programme also allows time to relax, giving you the opportunity to explore the surrounding area.

This morning, we journey by coach and enjoy a included visit to Kedleston Hall, an extravagant temple to the arts designed by the architect Robert Adam. It was commissioned in the 1750s by Nathaniel Curzon, whose ancestors had resided at Kedleston since the 12th century. The house is framed by historic parkland and boasts opulent interiors intended to impress.
Designed for lavish entertaining, Kedleston Hall displays an extensive collection of paintings, sculpture and original furnishings, reflecting both the tastes of its creators and their fascination with the classical world of the Roman Empire.
Inherited by George Nathaniel Curzon, Viceroy of India between 1899 and 1905, the hall also houses the many objects he amassed during his travels in South Asia and the Middle East, and in his role leading British rule in India. There are displays of religious, military and domestic objects, arranged from the perspective of the coloniser, along with ceremonial gifts which speak of the power relations inherent in the British Empire.
From spring to autumn, Kedleston’s formal garden offers a colourful interpretation of its original 18th century design. The expansive grounds with both long and short walks, feature sweeping vistas of Kedleston’s parkland and provide access to a rich array of wildlife.
You will enjoy free time to explore the hall and gardens at leisure. We return to our hotel by coach this afternoon and enjoy dinner followed by evening bridge.
