Play bridge under the winter sun in beautiful Gran Canaria, with its sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, volcanic mountains, traditional towns, and lush greenery. Enjoy a fabulous stay at the Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel, boasting amazing ocean views from every bedroom, as well as its public rooms and terraces. Lounge in the infinity pool dramatically overlooking the ocean or treat yourself to a day in the Thalasso pool. The location is ideal, as its panoramic hotel lift takes you directly on to the seafront promenade. From here, you can walk into peaceful Amadores and enjoy its fine sandy beach and crystal-clear waters, or venture into vibrant Puerto Rico with its excellent shopping centre, marina, and abundance of bars and cafés along its beachfront. Not to be missed is a visit to nearby Mogan, the little Venice of Gran Canaria, where bougainvillea of every colour cover the whitewashed houses criss-crossing its network of canals.

Your Bridge Programme
Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.
Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.

Alongside your bridge programme, enjoy free time to explore the local area.
From your hotel, take the panoramic lift to the seafront promenade where a 5-minute flat walk takes you into Puerto Rico. Here, you will find an excellent shopping centre and an abundance of cafés, bars and tourist facilities, overlooking the sandy beach.
Walk in the opposite direction along the promenade and you will find peaceful Amadores, with its relaxing beach of white sand and crystal waters.
Not to be missed is a visit to nearby Mogan – the little Venice of Gran Canaria. Beautifully located on a network of canals, it's pretty houses are awash with flowers of every colour.
Take the hourly boat from Puerto Rico to Mogan and enjoy the stunning scenery along the coastline. Better still, go on a Friday and shop for local crafts and souvenirs in the fabulous weekly market!
It is simple to get around Gran Canaria as the local buses are so frequent and inexpensive. There is a public bus stop 300m from the hotel and a taxi rank in the hotel grounds.
After breakfast, we depart the hotel.
