Join us on this fantastic bridge holiday based in Oxfordshire. Set in 17 acres of beautiful countryside, the DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry Hotel is our luxurious base, offering comfortable rooms and excellent facilities. We take in some of the highlights of the beautiful River Thames on our included cruise, sailing through the scenic 'Wind in the Willows' country and enjoying a relaxing afternoon tea on board. Not to be missed is our visit to Windsor Castle. The oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions, it has been the home of 40 monarchs! With time to explore as leisure, as well as relaxed bridge sessions and a seminar included, this springtime break is not one to miss!

Your Bridge Programme
Play & Explore holidays are suited to intermediate players who wish to learn new skills, and regular players looking for a relaxed holiday with bridge.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and playing relaxed and friendly bridge.
Bridge will also be offered some mornings or afternoons. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams. Sessions may take place in the mornings instead of the afternoons, complimenting any included excursion programme.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.

Join our bridge team and your fellow players at the hotel for a welcome drink and dinner followed by evening bridge.
After a leisurely breakfast, we head by coach to the Royal Borough of Windsor. On arrival, we make our way to Windsor Castle, the official residence of His Majesty The King.
Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world. Established in the 11th century by William the Conqueror, it has been remodelled by successive kings and queens, including Edward III, Charles II and George IV, and restored during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign after the fire in 1992. Today, the castle is used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions and has been the home of 40 monarchs.
We include entry into the castle to admire the State Apartments. You will enjoy free time to explore the castle and visit St George's Chapel (subject to opening times). Once outside the castle grounds, there will be time to take a browse around the many wonderful shops and eateries, and why not do a spot of shopping whilst you’re here?
We return to the hotel where we enjoy dinner followed by bridge this evening.
Please note: entry to Windsor Castle is on a hill. There will be plenty of time to make the walk up to the entry point and comfortable shoes are advised.
Today, we enjoy a morning seminar and afternoon bridge.
This evening will include dinner and evening bridge.
After a leisurely breakfast, we set off by coach for Caversham to board the 'Caversham Lady' for our cruise along the River Thames. This 3-hour experience sails through the scenic 'Wind in the Willows' country and along the picturesque Caversham and Mapledurham reaches of the River Thames.
You'll enjoy an afternoon tea while passing the riverside homes, parklands, and tranquil meanders of the river. The cruise continues, passing Mapledurham House and the Watermill (thought to have inspired Toad's home in Wind in the Willows) through the lock upriver to Whitchurch, where it will turn for the return journey back to Caversham. The area is renowned for its stunning scenery and serene atmosphere, making it a delightful experience for nature lovers.
We return to the hotel to enjoy dinner and bridge this evening.
Please note: the Thames cruise and its seating area are all on one level, allowing for easy accessibility.
