Julia Brown

1 tour from £1,515pp

Expert Overview

Julia lived in a beautiful village, just north of the lovely Georgian town of Stamford in the County of Rutland, for 40 years. She has enjoyed family life with her husband and daughter and the Village/Farming community, where her joy of walking, gardening and animals came to the fore.

Julia ran the Village Drama Group, served on the Village Hall and Village Fete committees, as well as running a children's club, whilst enjoying the surrounding countryside on horseback and dog walking.

Her working life has always been around people and children. Teaching at Nursery School to later becoming an Event Manager and Property Manager where her organisational were of utmost importance.

Julia moved to St Leonards 12 years ago to live near her daughter, husband, and two grandchildren. It was here that she learnt to play bridge. Julia now teaches bridge to beginners and runs a supervised play session once a week. It is important to her that people learn in a friendly, welcoming environment at the pace they feel happy with.

Julia's favourite bridge destination has to be Lake Bled, Slovenia, with the stunning backdrop of the lake and mountains.

Her other interests are leading a Walking Group and running a Gardening Group, and of course spending time with her family and friends

Meet the Team
Chris and Linda Benneworth

Chris and Linda Benneworth

Following successful careers in education, Chris and Linda retired in the late nineties and started directing together, working at first in local and more recently in overseas congresses. They ran the North Eastern Bridge Association Congress for a number of years in Otterburn, Consett and Gateshead, an event with a deserved reputation for friendliness.
Maggie Pyner

Maggie Pyner

Maggie started learning bridge in 1980. She played with my future husband, John Pyner, at Congress level for several years and reached the level of Life Master – and will hopefully become a Premier Life Master.
